NEFP provided funding to The Crossing for this installation.
How to Survive (world premiere) is an installation conceived, written, and designed by Suzanne Bocanegra, featuring new works by Hildur Guðnadóttir, Shara Nova, Julia Wolfe, and Ayanna Woods, presented by The Crossing at The Fabric Workshop and Museum in Philadelphia.
A new perspective and a new art form — choral film — brings The Crossing installed within a museum gallery full of music, film, and practical advice as disasters grow in number and in violence. Pull over to the side of the road. If you are outside, find a gully, ditch, or low spot, and lie flat. If you stay calm you can think clearly. If you think clearly you can survive.
