About Us

About Us

The New England Foundation for Psychoanalysis was founded in 1995 as a 501(c)3 organization in the state of Massachusetts.

Our Mission

  • Foster the use of psychoanalytic knowledge in ways that benefit the general community
  • Manage the Ecker Fund to distribute grants for interdisciplinary psychoanalytic projects, programs, and research to non-profit organizations
  • Encourage the integration of psychoanalytic knowledge and psychoanalysis with fields of education and therapy that deal with human behavior
  • Further relationships between psychoanalysts and educational institutions
  • Support research and training in psychoanalytic theories and treatment

In 2021 we received a bequest from the estate of Elizabeth Bullock. The bequest was used to create the Ecker Fund, which stipulates that the funds be used for interdisciplinary psychoanalytic projects, programs and research
